A true pinched nerve is fairly rare. Spinal nerve roots exit through the foramina at every level along your spine. These nerves can become pinched or compressed due to malposition of the vertebrae, significant stenosis (degeneration) or space occupying lesions. But again these are fairly rare.
Most commonly nerves can become irritated or inflamed due to stretching or twisting or chemically mediated inflammatory reactions. These facilitated lesions can be quite painful. Your chiropractor can help detect where these lesions occur due to the biomechanical problems at certain levels.
A chiropractic spinal manipulation can help reduce this pinched or facilitated nerve to allow the body a chance to heal. If you have been told you have a pinched nerve then give us a call at 026 42116.
